Welcome! Thanks for stopping by.

I'm the tall girl in the corner trying to balance in high heels. Stilettos are not what I do best. I enjoy writing, sports, reading, laughing (goofing off) and spending time with my husband and our spunky daughter. I live in Georgia (nearly Alabama, which I think I can see from my back stoop).

My writing journey started on a whim after reading The Magic Hat by Mem Fox. I thought, “This looks easy as pie.” Looks can be deceiving, and in this case, that was so incredibly true. But, being ever stubborn, curious, and determined, I filled up all of my spare time and wrote day and night, like a hamster on an exercise wheel. Day after day . . . repeat, repeat, repeat. I learned fairly quickly that (good) writing is very hard.

Finally, one of my quirky stories placed first in the Writer's Digest writing competition. They sent me a big check with several zeros (WAY COOL). Fast forward a few years . . . Enslow Publishers offered me a book contract and then a second one followed. These days I am working on a middle grade novel, set in the south.

Before you scoot, drop me an email, find out what’s new, and of course, come back any old time!
